Peco's Bill's Plate

Pecos Bill’s is one of the busiest quick service locations at the Magic Kingdom. This dining establishment fits right into Frontierland, with a Mexican inspired menu. One of the many great things about this location in the ample seating in air conditioning on a hot summers day.

About Pecos Bill’s Tall Tale Inn and Cafe

You can’t miss this restaurant! Located in Frontierland it’s very easy to spot. If you make your way towards Splash Mountain it’s nestled  by Country Bear Jamboree. In fact, Country Bear exits into Pecos Bill’s. We recommend catching a show before heading over for lunch. There’s nothing like the great Country Bears!

The theming at this location is some of our favorite. It really looks like you are sitting in a Mexican style courtyard. We live in Arizona and every time we eat here it reminds me of the Adobe style buildings that are so popular here and our many ghost towns.  Heavy wooden tables and barrel seats help to complete the atmosphere.

Here’s a quick tip, when you get your food keep walking down the long hallway on the right hand side. On the left you will see a ramp to go upstairs. We always go upstairs to sit, its usually way less crowded.

Ordering at Pecos Bill’s Tall Tale Inn can be a bit of a mess. I cant tell you how many times I’ve seen people standing around not sure if they are in line or not. This is why we recommend using mobile order. You can do so through your My Disney Experience App. On a side note, they usually prepare food here pretty quickly so don’t place your order until you are very close by.

The Food

Pecos Bill’s specializes in Mexican Food.  In addition they do carry the classic disney burger (with a southwest flair of course)  and have mac and cheese for the kiddos. However, we really recommend sticking to the Mexican food.

The focus is on Tacos, Fajitas, and Bowls. To help keep the food coming quickly your base is almost always going to be beans and rice.

There are a lot of vegan and vegetarian options on the menu here! You can get cauliflower tacos, a veggie rice bowls with squash and black beans! This is a firm favorite of ours because of this. Sometimes I just want something a little bit on the healthier side after indulging in too much junk food while on vacation and this one always hits the spot.

The Fajita Plate is the fan favorite here. You get a very generously portioned meal of onions and peppers, black beans, rice , fajita chicken and carnitas. They also give you two giant tortillas.

One top of the all the deliciousness they already give you, Pecos Bills comes with a topping bar! Stack your tacos high with shredded lettuce, cheese, salsa and so much more. We love that you can customize your meals here.

What we Ordered!

We eat here every vacation, usually twice. When we go to Magic Kingdom we bounce between here and Columbia Harbor House normally.

The Nachos

These are a good option when you are hungry but not starving. It’s not a huge portion like the other plates but you still get a decent amount of chips, cheese, and ground beef. The cheese is that classic “plastic cheese” dip that Disney uses with some spices added to it for kick. The beef is a little spicy but very tasty. This is a favorite of Adolfo’s and he likes to pile on salsa and sour cream to round off the nachos.

Fajita Plate

This is probably the best bang for your buck. It is pricy for quick service at fifteen dollars but it’s well worth the expense. Kaitlyn and I can easily share this and not finish it. I really like that I can make Kaitlyn chicken and bean mini burritos while I get to eat what I want from the plate. The only drawback for me is that the sodium content in this is super high. If you don’t like to eat a lot of salt or are on a low salt diet this might not be the dish for you.

Veggie Rice Bowl

I got this thinking it would a good lighter option but it’s still a lot of food! It’s a whole bowl filled with rice, beans, and squash. Top it off with some shredded lettuce, cheese and sour cream and you’ve got a super delicious meal. To make it an even better deal it’s only 10 dollars.

Would we eat at Pecos Bill’s again?

Totally, this is a staple for us, as said above. We eat here a lot when we are on vacation. It’s a nice break from burgers and fried foods. We recommend it to anyone who likes Mexican inspired food. This is very far from authentic Mexican food but still delicious in it’s own right.

We also love how shareable this is. You could easily split a fajita platter among three younger kids.
