Satu’li Canteen is currently one of the most talked about quick service locations at Walt Disney World. Honestly the hype is right, it is above and beyond what you would normally receive at other quick service locations. Its setting in Pandora is great and very immersive. We cannot recommend it highly enough.
About this Location
Satu’li Canteen is a quick service restaurant located in Pandora at Animal Kingdom. The location is huge and offers lots of indoor seating, which is great for Florida summers. Theming is very immersive as you are in an RDA cafeteria that has been re-purposed by Alpha Centaury Expedition, who’ve adorned it with Na’vi art and cultural pieces.
Satuli’ Canteen has a highly customizable menu. We recommend the bowls because you can tailor them to your personal tastes. Pick a base, protein and sauce to complete your bowl.
Proteins: Beef, Chicken, Tofu, Sustainable Fish
Base: Rice Mixture, Sweet Potato/Red Potato Hash, Mixed Greens, Quinoa
Sauce: Chimichurri, Creamy Herb, Black Bean Vinaigrette
Each bowl comes with a slaw mixture on top and Boba balls. (We found the Boba to be unappetizing and removed them from our bowls)
There are other items on the menu that are really popular, such as, the cheeseburger pods. Boa buns filled with hamburger meat, mustard, ketchup and diced pickles. Honestly we didn’t really opt for these because the bowls were so amazing. It’s just another reason to go back to try more of the offerings at Satu’li Canteen. Which we can honestly say we will be doing.
We recommend getting the sauces on the side. Especially if you are sharing with a younger child. We found the amount of sauce put on the bowl to be a bit overwhelming and the other flavors were drowned out.
For the protein, beef and chicken, were the stand outs. The chicken had a wonderful smoked flavor and the beef was cooked to a perfect medium and sliced very thinly.
Blueberry Cheesecake Mousse
Blueberry cheesecake mousse coated in white chocolate served with passion fruit curd and blueberry compote. Unfortunately, we cant recommend this. The whole thing was downright weird, the textures and the flavors didn’t work well together. Even Kaitlyn didn’t like it and she loves cheesecake and blueberries.
The flavors can be described best as cream cheese blended with sugar and an artificial flavor, that’s not quite blueberry. In and of itself it wasn’t horrible but it definitely left something to be desired. The passion fruit curd was the best tasting part of this desert. Again, the mix of the flavors was not appetizing to us. However, this is just our opinion and I still recommend at least giving it a shot. You might be pleasantly surprised and like it.
Do you need to get your kids a kids meal at Satu’li Canteen?
No, we really don’t think so. The bowls were large enough that we could easily share with Kaitlyn. We think you could easily share this meal with a toddler. Especially if you’re anything like my family and pick off of one another’s plates so you can try a little bit of everything.
The line can get well into the 30 to 40 minute range. Why stand in line if you can order on your cell phone and skip the wait?
Mobile ordering is really being underutilized and it’s a great time saver. When you open your My Disney Experience App go to the search bar and enter in Satu’li Canteen. Once you click on the restaurant you will see Order Food. This is where you can make your selections and purchase your food on the APP.
